Frankenhagen

Frankenhagen (Polish: Silno [ˈɕilnɔ]) today is a large village in the administrative district of Chojnice, within Chojnice County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) south-east of Chojnice and 101 km (63 mi) south-west of the regional capital Gdańsk. The village had a population of 1,055 in 2008.

In 1772 Frankenhagen consisted of 61 Hufen with 15 farmers (a German "Hufe" is old land measurement similar to old English oxgangs). In 1905 the village had 79 dwelling houses occupied by 118 households. 586 of 642 inhabitants were Catholic, 556 of them were German.

The village has a nineteenth-century wooden hut arcade and eighteenth-century "cottage-Betlejemka".
