Ględowo
[ɡlɛnˈdɔvɔ] (Kashubian: Glãdòwò; German: Lichtenhagen, formerly called
Lichtenhayn) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina
Człuchów, within Człuchów County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern
Poland today. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) east of Człuchów
and 113 km (70 mi) south-west of the regional capital Gdańsk. It is
located within the historic region of Pomerania. The village has a
mainly catholic population of 667 today.
Lichtenhagen is historically documented as Lichtenhayn in 1376. At that time Claus
was Schulze (chairman of the village; Latin: scultetus) of Lichtenhagen.
At the beginning of the 17th century, Lichtenhagen - then called Ględowo - was a royal village of the Polish Crown and hat two Schulzen (chairmen of the village), Semrau and Dietrich.

During Prussian times Lichtenhagen belonged to the county Kreis
Schlochau, Regierungsbezirk Marienwerder, Kingdom of Prussia. In 1861 a
school was founded at Lichtenhagen. Lichtenhagen teachers were Bernhard
Conrad, Paulus, Rast, Kroschel and Sievert. In 1905 Lichtenhagen had 521
German and 15 Polish residents.
